Sustainability-oriented and AI-powered app to help both households and commercial users manage their inventory in a smarter way: optimizing resource utilization, reducing wastage from expiration, and tracking consumption.

- Advanced Tracking: Monitors product expiration, consumption, storage, and warranties with multi-stage notifications.

- AI Assistant with RAG: Uses advanced conversational AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation to empower the AI assistant for personalized user interactions and actionable insights.

- Gamification and Rewards: Users earn rewards or badges for reducing waste, optimizing purchases, and using eco-friendly products. For businesses, instead of users, this may be business units (like franchises, stores, departments etc.).
- Carbon footprint tracking: App may integrate carbon footprint tracking based on items user add to the app and their expiration, consumption and storage pattern.
- AI-Supported Purchasing: App will provide an area where user can keep track of items to buy. App will display insights related to products to help user make better decisions to reduce waste and costs, and increase optimum resource utilization.
Current Status
Currently the project is in the initial phases of development. While I’m carrying out additional research and validating some of feature ideas, the Sustentia app mobile UI design work in ongoing. In parallel, I’m working on the preliminary tasks for the backend infrastructure (like preparing data strategy, setting up the database, etc.).
I’ve completed substantial amounts of work on two open-source AI frameworks: QvikChat and Intento which will help empower the AI assistant in Sustentia. I’m also working on the underlying components needed for the real-time AI-powered insights generation pipeline, and the real-time Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline.
Presently, there is only one person working on this project (me). Right now, I’m looking for job opportunities in the AI/ML or software development domain to support myself and gain more experience. Therefore, the work on this project is slow but steady. I’m open to opportunities that may enable me to work on this project full-time.
